Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse Starring Michael B. Jordan Gets Trailer

Without Remorse Amazon Prime trailer Michael B Jordan Tom Clancy's Without Remorse

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan universe (that’s what the press release called it) is expanding again with the first trailer for Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, coming to Amazon Prime and starring Michael B. Jordan as ex-Navy SEAL John Clark. It looks like a cross between John Wick and Tom Clancy with a dash of Death Wish tossed in for good measure.

It’s interesting that the Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse trailer teases Clancy as the author of Rainbow Six instead of the creator of Jack Ryan since the latter is an already successful Amazon Tom Clancy series. However, it makes sense since John Clark leads Rainbow Six in the books, and it never helps to remind people of one of the most popular video game series ever made. The film also has a far more blockbuster, action-oriented slant than the slightly more espionage-based Jack Ryan show. For now, the two properties seem to be kept separate, but John Clark was introduced in the Jack Ryan novels and even served as his bodyguard when Jack Ryan was president of the U.S. They also may or may not have founded the Society for People with Two First Names.

This film is Clark’s origin story, telling the tale of his quest for revenge after his pregnant wife is murdered by a mysterious organization. He’s joined in his mission by a fellow SEAL (Jodie Turner-Smith) and a shadowy CIA agent (Jamie Bell) but mostly seems to be shooting and punching a lot of people on his own. The film also stars Lauren London, Brett Gelman, Jacob Scipio, Jack Kesy, Colman Domingo, and Guy Pearce. It is directed by Stefano Sollima, who specializes in crime and action thrillers like this.

Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse will release on April 30, 2021 on Amazon Prime.
