Toys for Bob, the studio behind Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, is now helping out Raven Software in developing Season Three of Call of Duty: Warzone. The studio’s official Twitter account confirmed this, and multiple former employees have mentioned this change as well.

Toys for Bob is proud to support development for Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone, and look forward to more to come,” the tweet reads. Raven Software also replied to the tweet, appreciating the studio’s support, saying, “Glad to have you on the project with us!”

The contract for Nicholas Kole, a character designer on Crash Bandicoot 4 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy whom we interviewed last year, ended in January, and several others have left the company since. He stated that the shift of Toys for Bob making Call of Duty marks “an end of an era” but wishes his former colleagues who are still at the studio the best of luck. Additionally, Blake Maloof, a former game designer at the studio, said they left on their own accord, but this recent shift had pushed their decision.

VGC’s Andy Robinson also states that he was told that essentially every studio at Activision is now working on Call of Duty. Unfortunately, whether this shift is permanent or not is unknown. We may not see another Crash Bandicoot or Spyro game for a long while, though more remasters of Activision titles were previously stated to be on the way. However, Activision has stated that Toys for Bob “is excited to continue supporting Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.”
