Tunche, a 2D hand-drawn beat ’em up roguelike, has a release date of November 2, 2021 on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox consoles. Publisher HypeTrain Digital and developer Leap Game Studios shared the news in a release date trailer that highlights the game’s fast-paced chaos and cartoonish combat. And yes, as you may have noticed, that is indeed Hat Kid from A Hat in Time making an appearance as a playable character. A PlayStation version of the game is planned too, but it has not yet received a release date. See Hat Kid and the rest of the colorful Tunche cast in the release date trailer below.

Tunche features four Amazonian worlds to fight through, each with their own enemies, bosses, and obstacles to overcome, and some of these bosses will be multi-stage fights. It seems Leap has designed Tunche to favor replayability, thanks to upgradeable characters who can grow and learn new moves throughout the game.

Upon its release date in November, Tunche will provide five characters to play as: Rumi the sorceress, Pancho the musician, Qaru the bird boy, Nayra the warrior, and Hat Kid. HypeTrain and Leap say that you’re more than welcome to play solo, but the game also offers co-op play with up to three friends, giving room to experiment with each character’s unique abilities.
