Turok: Escape from Lost Valley is an isometric action game developed by Pillow Pig Games. You play as Turok, and with the help of Andar, you two must defeat the people and creatures of the Lost Valley and explore its variety of landscapes to find your way home. As a linear action-focused game, you’ll be doing some light exploring but focusing mostly on combat using your knife and bow. There are some RPG-like mechanics, such as finding new arrows and crafting new armor from defeated bosses, but that’s the extent of it.
It almost goes without saying that the graphics are adorable. T-Rexes headbutting, bears body slamming, even Turok’s run animation all have an endearing quality. Everything from the varied environments to the characters has a cohesive and charming look.
However, until some patches improve the game’s issues, Turok: Escape from Lost Valley is a very pretty game with only moments of glory.
