Unreal Tournament III, available on the PC and PlayStation 3 for several months, is loosely scheduled to finally land on the Xbox 360 “this summer.”
The announcement, made by publisher Midway and developer Epic Games, will see the 360’s shooter lineup fleshed out even further – but the game will not feature the ability to interface with user mods, unlike the PC and PS3 versions.
However, the multiplayer scene is already heavily dominated by Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty 4. If Unreal Tournament 3‘s stale server population statistics on the PC and from Gamespy Live Stats (#39 ranking) are any indication, the title has not fared well commercially so far.
The 360 version will nonetheless get three extra player characters, three new maps, two revamped maps, and split-screen play.
