Uwe Boll Making Movie About Nazi-Fighting, Overweight Swordswoman

The tenacious German director/producer is trying his hand at making a “fatsploitation” movie.

Whatever you might think of Uwe Boll’s movies, it’s impossible to deny that he is a grandmaster of shrugging off criticism. His status as the filmmaker that people – well, gamers more than anyone else – love to hate doesn’t seem to bother him one bit, and he just keeps soldiering on, making movie after movie

As you might expect from a movie called “Blubberella,” his latest work is unlikely to win any Oscars for its poignant dénouement, but that clearly was never the plan. Details for Blubberella, are in short supply, apart from the tagline “She will kick major ass – with her major ass.”

Other than that, its just a case of what you can glean from the incredibly low-resolution poster. The titular character seems to be wielding swords, and after a few minutes squinting, I think I can make out some Nazis in the top left corner and prisoners a little further along. The plot would seem to be pretty self-explanatory from those details, but you never know, it might be an elaborate ruse and the action takes place as part of a daydream or something.

The movie stars Lindsay Hollister, Michael Paré, and Clint Howard, all actors who have done time in at least one of Boll’s previous movies. Boll will also make an appearence, but it’s not clear how big a role he has. Depending on your tolerance for jokes made at the expense of overweight people, this movie is either going to be so bad it’s good again, or just incredibly bad. Really, the only upside here seems to be the fact that no videogames were harmed in the making of the movie.
