The actor who played the lovable Groot could have a role in Marvel’s Inhumans.
Vin Diesel has teased movie roles before official announcements before. The actor’s latest Facebook cover image shows Diesel over the words “Are You Inhuman?” On his shirt is the logo for Marvel‘s upcoming Inhumans movie.
Marvel announced the film adaptation for Inhumans at the end of October with the slew of other movie plans for the next several years. Inhumans, which Marvel plans to release in November 2018, is about a race of humanoids mostly with superpowers living in secret. They were first introduced as supporting characters in The Fantastic Four.
Diesel played Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy as the voice of the sentient tree-like creature. Fan speculation has pegged Diesel as a possible actor for Black Bolt in Inhumans, a role that would involve no speaking. Black Bolt’s greatest weapon is his voice, which can destroy a city. As a result, he keeps himself from making noise.
Back in August, after Guardians of the Galaxy opened in theaters, Diesel posted a picture of Groot and wrote, “Vin and Marvel… you all made it happen! I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I’m Inhuman… Haha.”
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will release May 2017. Diesel provides the voice of Groot, but he does not need to do any motion-capture work as Groot is largely created through post-production. So, Diesel could easily handle two different Marvel movies around the same time.
Marvel’s cinematic universe has been built up over the last several years and only shows signs of continuing to do so.
