After weeks of little news on the Wii U version, Ubisoft has finally confirmed a release date.
With rumors of its cancellation only a few months ago, Nintendo fans were probably worried they’d never see the Wii U version of Watch Dogs. Thankfully, it seems those fears can finally be laid to rest as Ubisoft has announced that their latest open-world game will hit the Wii U this fall.
Nintendo Enthusiast picked up the news earlier today, noting that Ubisoft’s North American Uplay store listed the game had a target release of this fall for the Wii U. Since then, they’ve received confirmation from an Ubisoft rep that the game is indeed scheduled to launch on Nintendo’s platform later this year.
Watch Dogs is scheduled to launch on May 27 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. PC fans learned yesterday that their version will require Ubisoft’s Uplay client to register the game, but afterwards the client won’t be needed to play the game.
