Trademark Troll Slapped Down by British Judge

Tim Langdell, who claims that he holds a trademark on the word “Edge,” has had his so-called evidence torn to ribbons by a judge in the UK. The highlight of hearing was when evidence supposedly created in 1991 was found to have been created in Windows 95. Hit the link to read about the whole, sad affair. (Link)

BioShock’s Undersea City Recreated in Lego

There are few videogame settings as unique as BioShock’s Rapture. It’s hard to look at such a place and not have it fire your imagination. Case in point: Lego artisan Imagine Rigney, who has recreated the undersea dystopia in brightly colored plastic blocks. The attention to detail is pretty staggering. Hit the link for a gallery. PR Firm Goes Ballistic at Reviewers Over DNF Reviews

Jim Redner, head of PR Firm The Redner Group, was less than impressed with the awful reviews that Duke Nukem Forever was receiving, and decided to make his displeasure known by threatening to blacklist reviewers on the company Twitter account. Unfortunately for him, this backfired when 2K showed him the door. (Link)

Analyst Blasts The Old Republic for Being a “WoW-Clone”

Market analyst Doug Creutz has dismissed BioWare’s Star Wars MMO, The Old Republic as nothing more than a clone of Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. Creutz said that it was like BioWare had thrown some Star Wars textures on to WoW, and bolted on a conversation system. (Link)

Minecraft Sales Hit New Milestone

Indie hit Minecraft has hit 2.5 million sales, a pretty impressive achievement for any game, let alone one that until very recently was the work of just one man. The future for the game is looking pretty rosey too, with official versions coming to Sony Ericsson’s Xperia gaming phone and Microsoft’s Xbox 360. (Link)
