What a Tactical Stance Is in CoD: MW3 & How to Use It, Explained

Also known as “Tac-Stance,” Tactical Stance is designed to give you an edge in close quarters combat in MW3. It helps you improve your movement and visibility while looking down the scopes by turning your weapon at an angle. It also reduces the spread of your bullets while hip firing, which is really nice. By default you will generally only enter Tactical Stance in MW3 during a slide, and it looks pretty rad!

You can head into the settings to customize Tactical Stance to use it more often outside of just when sliding in MW3. Under Controller or Keyboard/Mouse settings, head to the gameplay tab. Here you can set a combination of buttons to activate and turn off Tactical Stance.

In this menu, you’ll be able to activate Tactical Stance and get its benefits going whenever you want, which should specifically be close-range combat. I personally like the Double Tap to ADS option, as that makes it really quick and easy to activate Tactical Stance when I need it. Right now, a lot of players seem to consider that the best setting for Tactical Stance, though it comes down to your preference.

How to Get Kills While in Tactical Stance in CoD: MW3

Quite often, you’ll come across challenges that will require you to get a certain number of kills while in Tactical Stance. These challenges appear daily and as part of getting gun camo, so it’s important to know how to complete them easily.

Our first piece of advice is to use a set of attachments on one of your guns that improves accuracy in Tactical Stance in the stat lines. This will make it much, much easier to spray down enemies in MW3, thus leading to more kills overall.

Next, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got your Tactical Stance mapped to a button combination that’s easy to activate, like double tapping ADS as mentioned earlier. Once you’re in a MW3 match, you can use your set button combination to activate Tactical Stance right away after you spawn. Head straight for spots where you can get in to close range gun fights to let Tactical Stance shine. Avoid any long range fights by sliding past or else you’ll simply get gunned down. By following this strategy you’ll be able to easily stack up the kills you need to complete challenges within 1-2 matches!

That’s what Tactical Stance is and how you can use it to complete challenges. It’s a very useful stance to use and can really help you win some close range gun fights!
