Willow Sequel Series Gets a Magical & Adventurous New Trailer at D23

Willow second official trailer Disney+ sequel series Warwick Davis D23

At D23, Lucasfilm revealed the second, official trailer for itsĀ Willow Disney+ series, which will serve as a sequel to the 1988 Warwick Davis movie. Davis returns as the titular character, and it has newly been announced that Christian Slater has joined the cast well. Rounding out the rest of the cast are Ruby Cruz (Mare of Easttown), Erin Kellyman (The Falcon and Winter Soldier), Ellie Bamber (The Serpent), Tony Revolori (Spider-Man: No Way Home), Amar Chadha Patel (The Third Day), and Dempsey Bryk (The Birch).

The official Willow trailer makes references to past events and characters that will make a lot of sense to fans of the first movie but will require a bit of setup for everyone else. In any case, Willow is being called back to action to use his magic to help save the world again, and he says, “We must go beyond the edge of our world, into the unknown,” in order to do whatever heroic things are necessary. A malevolent force is “rallying the forces of evil,” and it’s up to Willow’s party to save the day while going on a big, epic adventure with lots of dazzling special effects. Frankly, that’s a good enough premise to have a fun time. It begins streaming November 30.
