The well-liked wireless Wavebird controller may have gone the way of the dodo.
According to GoNintendo, a company service representative said it has no intention of resupplying inventory for the retail product.
The original GameCube controller, the representative added, is still being shipped and made available online.
However, many Nintendo Wii owners have relied on the wireless Wavebird, preferring it to the feel and interface of the Wii equivalent, given the console’s backwards compatibility.
No information has been released about a potential successor to the wireless device.
