Microsoft has delivered more details regarding what will be included in next week’s July Xbox Games Showcase. Xbox Games Marketing general manager Aaron Greenberg shed light on what to expect from the July 23 Xbox Series X event in a blog post. Aside from spotlights on things like the Halo Infinite campaign, Microsoft is promising “world premieres and updated looks” at previously revealed titles.
Shortly after the post went live, Greenberg took to Twitter for more clarification, saying that the Xbox Games Showcase will be about an hour long with “no business, devices, or similar news, just games.” The presentation is sure to include fun reveals for fans clamoring for Xbox Series X news, but at least now we have our expectations in check.
Today’s expectation-setting update follows news that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will gain access to Project xCloud for free this September. When the service launches, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate holders will be able to stream any of the more than 100 Game Pass games from phones and tablets in supported countries.
Next week’s presentation follows Microsoft’s third-party-focused Xbox Series X showcase that drew criticism from fans. Considering most wanted to see more next-gen gameplay from that event, it seems likely that Microsoft will deliver next week with gameplay from titles such as Halo Infinite. You can watch the Xbox Games Showcase via Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, with a 4K/60fps recording coming to YouTube immediately following the event.
