XEL Gets New Trailer and Demo on Steam Before Summer Release

XEL demo

Previously, we mentioned a new Zelda-like adventure called XEL. A fresh trailer for the game is now available. In addition, there is a demo now out for XEL on Steam, should you want to experience a little of the gameplay.

The title has an intriguing aesthetic that mixes sci-fi with Nintendo’s famous series’ gameplay — indeed, XEL is described as a love letter to the franchise. The combat of XEL is looking pretty tight. Item variety appears to be a priority, and any game with a flamethrower has my attention. Hopefully, the plot is just as good. Stories of alien worlds and amnesia can be quite engrossing if done right.

Download the Steam demo here. It features the first 30 minutes of the adventure, and includes the first mini-boss fight against the “Overseer.” The main character Reid has a robot friend named Chap, though, so I’m sure they’ll be able to face the challenge. Unfortunately, there is no news of a Switch demo at the moment, the only other platform that will host XEL this summer.

XEL will launch in its entirety this summer on Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam and GOG. The title will release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 and 5 later this year.
