What do you get when you mix RPGs with beat ’em ups? A video game like Young Souls, which has finally secured a release date of March 10, 2022 after being delayed from its fall 2021 window. This co-op indie starring misfit teenagers will hit the PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 next month, and it initially launched on Stadia in August of last year.
Alongside the release date announcement for Young Souls comes a colorful new trailer, which can be viewed below:
Jeez, this title is animated quite well and looks intense! The plot is also intriguing, promising a tale of family, friendship, and goblins.
Over at PlayStation.Blog, the game received an in-depth look from developer 1P2P Studio’s co-founder, Jérôme Fait. He discussed the game’s two worlds. In the human world, main characters Jenn and Tristan can shop and talk to townsfolk in the city of Portsborough. Meanwhile, the goblin world is where the action goes down, as the twins beat up baddies in various dungeons. Players will constantly evolve the duo’s stats as long as they grant them respite from their battles.
Notably, your gear build entirely dictates your abilities, so you can change your gear to completely alter your play style. Plus, any change in equipment will accompany a change in appearance. It really brings the protagonists’ personalities to life.
