Are you ready to see a less blurry version of Darkseid? Zack Snyder has released the first clip from Zack Snyder’s Justice League that will come to HBO Max, and it features the DC Comics bad guy in all his glory along with a bit of wavery-voice narration.

In the clip we see Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) looking over some artifacts with a torch while narration from Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor plays, discussing Darkseid himself. The clip then cuts to Darkseid standing on a field of fire and brimstone with his armies amassing behind him, much like we saw in the first-look image Snyder shared earlier.
Darkseid was famously cut fromĀ Justice League when Snyder stepped down from the film and Joss Whedon came in to direct, creating a much lighter movie with only Steppenwolf as the villain. Since then fans have been clamoring to get a look at what Snyder’s Darkseid would have been like, though it’s unclear how much of a difference to the story the character addition will make. Darkseid was planned to be a greater presence in scrapped sequels.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will land exclusively on HBO Max sometime next year. The new film will cost millions to re-edit and complete post-production on, but Warner Media sees it as worth it for the buzz alone.
